Onak Alaskan Malamutes
HISTORY


	Onak Alaskan Malamutes was originally started in 1968 with my first malamute. Unfortunately the dog was very aggressive and had to be euthanized at age 4 after much behavior modification interventions. This dog was purchased as a pet and was never bred. After many months of research I decided that I wanted a stable dog with a good temperament. I chose a working dog kennel in Washington State (Tote-Um Kennel) and purchased my 2nd Alaskan Malamute who came to be CH Tote-um's Tongass, CDX.
Dick & Diane Ross of Tote-Um were excellent mentors and I learned about pack behavior, exercise, whelping, & snow sledding. I even spent one Christmas snow sledding in Cle Elum. Dianne always encouraged me to try different things with Tongass, thus I participated in conformation, obedience, and dry-land carting.
